Obama's Release of Oil From Strategic Reserve

Americans face a long-term energy crisis, largely of our own making.  Under the Democrats, we have been forbidden from exploiting our own resources, rendering us dependent on foreign sources.  We have been forbidden from drilling in ANWR, and off our own coasts (allowing, by the way, foreign nations to take oil from the Caribbean;)  nuclear power is off-limits; in places like New York, accessing vast deposits of shale oil is blocked.  Even the use of "alternative energy" such as wind power and solar are now hindered by questionable environmental policies.  Adding insult to injury, even existing oil fields in Texas are now under attack by leftists who allege that they may disturb a local lizard.  President Obama's response?  He has released some oil from the Strategic Reserve, which will have only an extremely minor and very temporary effect on the problem.  It will also endanger our nation's security in the event of a national emergency, such as a major  disaster or a military crisis.  It will, however, give the illusion that the White House is concerned with the plight of Americans. Candidate Obama once said that under his energy plan, prices would "necessarily skyrocket."  For once, he was right.
