10 Reforms to Restore New York

            By every objective standard, our Empire State is, and has been for far too long, ruled by a state government that is, to warp the words of President Lincoln, by, for, and of the politicians, not the people.

            Waiting for Albany to clean up its act is an exercise in futility.  We propose the following ten reforms:

1.     Allow Public Referendums on key issues.  For far too long, “three men in a room”—the Governor, the Assembly Speaker, and the Senate leader-- have controlled all that occurs in state government. Individual legislators have little say in the ultimate outcome of key issues.  We need to break that logjam, and insure that the people’s business—not the interests of the politicians—gets done.  Allowing easy access to public referendums on key issues would change the dynamics of Albany.
2.     Freeze all taxes.  For over three decades, New York has ranked either first or second in the nation as the highest taxed state. We have little to show for it.  Our roads and bridges are crumbling, our grammar and high schools are not serving our children adequately, and our economy, particularly upstate, is far too weak.  Giving more money to Albany is about the same as giving extra drugs to an addict.  It will cure nothing, and only make matters worse. Halting future tax hikes would give businesses the confidence to hire employees and energize the economy.
3.     Impose the nation’s most stringent measures of proof for benefits, to ensure that only citizens and legal residents have access to them, and that only those truly qualified—by both legal residency and eligibility—receive them.  We should not shortchange those New Yorkers truly in need by wasting scarce resources on con artists or those with no legal right to be here.
4.     Abolish member items, and replace them with objective criteria.  Worthwhile civic organizations should not have to support individual politicians just to get the funds they are entitled to.  This encourages politicians to provide funds based on how many votes or campaign contributions they receive from organizations, rather than on how worthwhile an organization is.
5.     Adopt a voucher system.  The fact is, despite spending more per student than any other state in the nation, (NY spends $18,126 per student, compared to the national average of $10,499) the results are poor.  Schools must strive for excellence, not bureaucratic compliance.  We need to refocus our educational system to emphasize the needs of students, not educational unions and bureaucrats.
6.     Make use of our natural resources.  New York has vast supplies of natural resources that cannot be tapped for reasons having more to do with ideology than ecology. This limits our economy, increases unemployment, and robs the state of revenue that could be used to limit taxes.
7.     Free local governments—eliminate unfunded mandates.  Albany’s politicians enact measures that make them popular in the eyes of their campaign contributors or party leaders, but force local governments to carry the burden.  This takes away local government’s ability to pay for truly essential services to meet the political needs of Albany.  This harms communities across the state.
8.     Establish a statewide Ombudsman’s office with appropriate power—and mandate that those who administer it cannot run for political office for a decade after leaving their position.  The vast bureaucracies that administer New York’s numerous agencies and regulate so much of our daily lives and businesses frequently fail to do what is necessary to protect New Yorker’s rights. Intra-agency appeals offices frequently do little more than affirm what their parent agency does.  A statewide ombudsman office, manned not by politicians but by fair, dedicated professionals, could change the balance of power between citizens and the bureaucracy.  The ombudsman’s office would also have jurisdiction over all complaints and charges of misdeeds of elected officials, and have the prosecutorial power to bring charges against them.
9.     Forbid elected officials from engaging in any profit or fee generating activities with those doing business with the state, both while in office and for a period of five years thereafter. The reasons are obvious. We must insure that the needs of New Yorkers are paramount.
10.  Forbid public service unions from contributing, as an organization, money, endorsements, office space, or volunteers to political campaigns. Public service unions have gained so much clout in Albany that it seems we work for them, not they for us.  Their unmatched influence has totally eclipsed the ability of all citizens or organizations to have a voice in Albany.

The Payroll Tax Cut

     The concept recently discussed by Senator McCain and Karl Rove (to sign the two month Pay Roll Tax Cut Extension legislation sent back by the Senate and then immediately pass a full year amendment to that bill, returning it to the Senate for immediate consideration when they return from the holiday recess, reminding all that the President promised that the particulars of the bill would be extended to a full year) deserves  support.

     The Democrat strategy on the payroll tax cut has succeeded: the Republican Party's traditional role as the defender of the people's interest in keeping taxes low has now been falsely supplanted, in the minds of the public, by President Obama.  This one issue could result in the President's reelection and a new Democrat majority in the House.

     While the goals of providing jobs and keeping our fiscal house in order are correct and commendable, the manner in which Congressional Republicans have attempted to achieve them has been a public relations  disaster on several levels.  First and foremost, Americans cannot stand any tax increase at this time.  Second, with the media solidly behind the Democrats, there is no conceivable way to make the case to the public that the two measures should be considered simultaneously.  The end result will be the reelection of the President, and the loss of our majority in the House.

     All the great intentions and brilliant ideas in the world will be useless if the power to enact them is missing.  The GOP Conference has failed to explain to the American People that the actions and behavior of the Senate Majority and the White House has nothing at all to do with "helping the middle class"  "producing jobs" or giving people a real "tax break".   The willingness of most Democrats to block any meaningful reform has been amply demonstrated by the Senate refusal to consider the Wyden- Ryan Medicare bill a thoughtful and workable bi-partisan agreement.

   The major battle to halt tax increases, produce jobs, and win back the government is being waged now, not next November.  We cannot lose; the nation cannot endure another four years of leftist control.

Obama's Dangerous Failure to Oppose China's Espionage

     The Obama Administration has announced plans to reinstitute the same nuclear scientist exchange program that allowed China to steal vital U.S. technological secrets in the past.

     The program had been suspended due to Beijing’s successful espionage efforts.  According to published sources, details of every deployed warhead the U.S. had at the time were transmitted to the Chinese military.

    The Obama administration claims that reviving the discredited and dangerous exchange will bring about transparency of China’s nuclear technology.  However, the prior program provided scant information about Beijing’s efforts, while totally exposing America’s.

    This latest move is consistent with the White House’s utter failure to respond to China’s vast espionage efforts against America, or to even seriously discuss the historically unprecedented arms buildup that nation has undertaken.  The nature and scope of Beijing’s arms program, particularly its level of cutting-edge technology, clearly indicates that it has one major target in mind: The USA.

    The President’s addiction to deficit spending is the most logical explanation of his reluctance to deal with this major threat.  His dependence on Chinese financing of our national deficit has induced him to trade American security for Beijing’s loans to a Washington government that cannot break it’s overspending habits.

         This latest—and perhaps most dangerous—Obama foreign policy disaster must be stopped.

Obama: Enemy of Middle Class Americans

                In one of the most blatant lies in political history, Obama is basing his re-election bid on his supposed support of middle income Americans. We need to counter this falsehood with facts.

              Thanks to Obama’s policiesthe sharp decline of the middle class over the past three years has devastated our nation, and absent a significant change in course, the trend seems destined to continue.

The statistics are deeply troubling.  Numerous analyses by both independent sources and government agencies alike outline the dilemma:
·       There has been a 26% decline in the net worth of the middle fifth of American households over the past two years.
·       Real median household income plunged 2.3% in 2010 from the year before.
·       The Official unemployment rate during the past three years has skyrocketed to 9% or over, and there is little prospect of that number being reduced anytime soon. That number doesn’t even count “discouraged” workers who have exhausted unemployment benefits or have given up trying to find jobs; that brings the actual unemployment rate to about 16.2%.  Further add to that statistic those who have been forced to work only at part time jobs or for salaries representing a fraction of their former income, and you reach Great Depression levels.  Job seekers now outnumber job openings five to one, the greatest number in the post war era. The number of Americans out of work for more than six months has escalated by more than 3.5 million in the past two years.
Washington has virtually ignored these numbers, and can point to almost no action designed to increase middle income private sector employment.  In fact, even these tragic numbers are masked by the continued strength of public sector employment.  On both the federal and state level, the highly influential public sector unions successfully deploy their influence to protect their interests.  The problem is, absent a strong private jobs market, governments have run out of tax income to pay for public workers and other programs.  That is a key factor in the deficit crisis we now face.

With sharply reduced income and assets, and despite a depressed economy, middle income families over the past few years must contend with increased prices, much of which is the result of Washington’s actions over the past three years.

One of the key root causes for inflation has been the cost of energy. The White House continues to promote policies that create unnecessary shortages, causing prices to ascend ever higher. The federal government has road-blocked the use of domestic assets such as those available in Alaska’s ANWAR, off our southeastern coast in the Caribbean (which is instead being exploited by China) and in numerous other instances.  The President has, for reasons not clearly outlined, delayed until next year a decision on the Keystone pipeline from Canada.  The net effect of all these anti-production policies has been increased energy costs, inflation all around, and further unemployment.  Brazil has lately been the beneficiary of American foreign aid to increase its energy production—energy it is selling to China. Not surprisingly, at our expense, Brazil’s unemployment rate has dropped, even as ours continues at crushing levels.  Americans must be reminded that, before his election, Obama stated that for his energy policies to success, "Prices necessarily must skyrocket."

One impact of the White house’s anti-production energy policies on the middle class can be seen at the grocery store.  The price of food has increased by 4.7% in the past year, and another 4.5% increase is expected in the coming year.  Food staples such as eggs and dairy products have risen over 10%.

Taken as a whole, Washington’s policies are driving the middle class into poverty and dependence on government programs, programs which eventually will fail due to a lack of resources.

            Bluntly stated, politicians find it easy to secure the loyalty of special interest groups by providing benefits which middle income taxpayers must pay for, through taxes, inflation, and the weakening of  other programs designed for and largely paid by  the classic American family.  Combined with a failure to encourage the growth of private sector employment, these policies will continue to devastate our nation’s middle class.

              The defeat of Obama and his policies is crucial to restoring middle income Americans to prosperity.

NAR Calls for Investigation of "Occupy Wall Street" Potential Voter Fraud

                                       Our organization has submitted, via registered mail, the following letter to the New York City Board of Elections:

Juan Carlos Polanco, President
New York City Board of Elections
32 Broadway
New York, New York 10004-1609

    Certified Mail # 7010 3090 0002 9981 8911

Dear Mr. Polanco:

            The integrity of our electoral process is vital.

             We are deeply concerned that the prolonged “Occupy Wall Street” encampment of politically active individuals may give rise to the opportunity for extensive election registration fraud.  Current practice provides for the registration of homeless individuals using a non-building, street address.

             However, the participants in the “Occupy” encampment are not homeless, and may well be registered elsewhere. Registrations bearing addresses such as Zuccoti Park, Cedar Street, Broadway, 1 Liberty Plaza, or similar non-building addresses entered during the period of the encampment may well be unlawful.

             We request a thorough review of these or any other potentially fraudulent registrations, and the publication of the results of that review.
                                                                                                                                                                                   Very truly yours,                                                                                                                                                             Frank V. Vernuccio, Jr., J.D.

Herman Cain

Herman Cain brought a breath of fresh air to the 2012 campaign.  In an era when the end result of  the rule of professional politicians has been the near destruction of the American economy, the introduction of an "outsider" made sense.  His departure was less the result of his personal faults--real or imagined--than the dedication of the left wing press to the utter destruction of any Republican front runner.  The message is clear: we will have to fight a two front war in the 2012 campaign, against both the Democrats and their wholly-owned media.

Gingrich Takes Principled Stand On Immigration

            Illegal immigration is one of the most significant problems facing our nation.  For far too long, both Democrats and Republicans have allowed this crisis to continue unresolved. It is bankrupting our federal, state and local governments, and is increasingly a threat to our national security.  The time to comprehensively resolve the problem is now.

            First and foremost, our borders must be immediately enforced.  For far too long, for purely political pandering reasons, this step has not been taken.  It is neither impossible nor unaffordable.       Second, realistic and practical solutions must be enacted to enforce the law concerning those who are already in the United States.

            Speaker Gingrich has, for many years, thoughtfully discussed this issue. In addition to his very tough stand on controlling the border and revamping our broken immigration system, he has honestly addressed a portion of this crisis that has been used by the left as a means to block conservative-oriented approaches: the case of those who came as infants or children, have led productive lives, and are loyal Americans in all but name.

            Recently, Gingrich discussed this specific problem by stating that this very particular and unique subset of immigrants should be treated differently than other illegals and given a path to legality. Despite his otherwise tough stand on illegal immigration, this humanitarian and practical position takes the sword out of the hands of the leftists who use examples of children who have never lived abroad and may be deported under strict immigration enforcement as a public relations tool to block all immigration enforcement.

       Unfortunately, for taking this practical approach, Gingrich has been criticized by some on our side of the political fence. The left wing media has taken great joy in this, as it seeks to instigate a civil war among conservatives and defeat our goal of controlling the border and ending illegal immigration, without resorting to unacceptable tactics such as amnesty.

            Our immigration system is clearly broken, another example of the utter failure of the federal government to live up to its responsibilities.  Any objective observer would be forced to conclude that it is geared towards ignoring the vast numbers of illegals streaming across our southern border, and providing a de facto amnesty to the millions here illegally, while subjecting those from around the world who abide by our immigration laws and seek to become loyal, honest and productive citizens to great hardships.

     We can’t let the left win this crucial battle.  Gingrich’s goal of stopping illegal immigration and fighting the left’s support of amnesty is vital. His views on infants and children is both practical and a key weapon in the drive to win popular support for our overall immigration goals. His views on this matter deserve our support.

Should the left wing media be considered a "contribution in kind" to the Democrats?

When Palin became "dangerously" popular in the last campaign, the Democrat media viciously attacked her. When Perry began moving up quickly in the polls, he became the next target. Now Cain is in the lead, and unproven and irrelevant charges are being dredged up against him. Meanwhile, under Obama, the nation is in a near depression, the Iranians are getting the bomb, China is about to eat our lunch, and there are OWS socialist encampments harboring rapists on the streets of our cities--but not a word is said against this failed president. Perhaps the left wing media should be forced to declare themselves as "contributors in kind" to the Democrat Party.

Obama's Assault on America's Future Must Stop!

After justifying the elimination of the American manned space program by touting the value of the robotic exploration effort, the Obama administration has now moved to defund robotic programs as well. The effect of America's withdrawal from these vital high tech endeavors will devastate our technological and economic future for decades. The White House's dismantling of the American economy must stop!

Obama Should Be Charged with Theft From Public Treasury

It has been revealed that the the State Department has spent approximately $70,000 on books written by Obama. Obama reaped a significant personal profit from this. Obama can't find money to adequately fund vital national programs, but he can find funds to give himself a personal profit. This is theft of the public treasury. Contact your Representative and demand an investigation. Where's the outrage?

Our Dangerously Reduced Military

Over the past several decades, the size of the U.S. military has been slashed in size.  The Navy has been reduced from 600 ships to 288.  The Air Force has shrunk from 37 to 20 tactical air wings.  The Army has been reduced from 18 regiments to 10.   Our weaponry dates, in varying degrees, from the 1950's to the 1980's. We have failed to deploy an anti-ballistic missile system. All this occurs as China dramatically increases the size and technology of its armed forces, as Russia rearms, and as Iran threatens nuclear war.  This national suicide must stop.

Re: "Occupy Wall Street"

HOW COME: The almost all-white "Occupy Wall Street" group is never called "racist?"
That the anti-semitic signs there are rarely discussed? That their defiling of the US flag is never examined? That their praise of tyrannical Communist figures isn't criticized by the media? That Mayor Bloomberg, who is so concerned about salt & sugar intake, has been so tolerant of this filthy group's public defecations?

Barney Frank, Chris Dodd should be tried and convicted

Congratulations to Newt Gingrich for having the courage to publicly state that Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd should go to jail for their role in the economic disaster that has befallen America.

Architect of 9/11 Failure Appointed to Obama's Defense Policy Board

Obama's newly appointed Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, has appointed Jamie Gorelick to the Defense Policy Board.  Gorelick was responsible for developing the "firewall" that prevented law enforcement agencies from sharing information that could have prevented the 9/11 attacks.  This despicable appointment is characteristic of the devastating harm caused by the Obama Administration.

AG Holder Must be Removed From Office

NAR President Frank Vernuccio and Vice President Larry Allison scooped the major media on the Holder scandal by over two months.  On July 16, reporting on the "And Nothing But The Truth" radio program, Vernuccio, Allison, and regular guest "2nd Amendment Mike" Timlin noted that AG Eric Holder falsely testifiesd before Rep. Issa's May 3 Congressional Committee that he only learned within the past several weeks of "Operation Fast & Furious."  However, Allison & Vernuccio reported that President Obama publicly discussed the matter in March.  Holder's administration of the Department of Justice has been a travesty.  A special prosecutor must be appointed, and the disgraceful and politically motivated misuse of the DOJ must be brought to an end.

Obama's Redistribution

Comptroller Liu's Terrible Judgement

Reports in the New York Post reveal Comptroller Liu has hired, as Director of Policy, John Choe.  Choe is infamous for his comment that North Korea "is at the front line of the liberation struggles against imperialism."
Congratulations to Councilman Vincent Ignizio (R-SI) for questioning this horrendous move.

Hoffa/Biden/Obama Rhetoric Must be Condemned

     Teamster President Hoffa today advocated a "war" on the Tea Party.  Vice President Biden called his political opponents "terrorists." The mainstream media, which criticizes almost any opposition to the Obama Administration as being in bad taste, has not said a word about this blatant verbal abuse of the rights of the majority of Americans to peacefully voice their discontent of the policies that have devastated America since Obama took office. Democrats in Congress keep coming up with schemes to silence conservative talk radio and bloggers.

     Hoffa, the Obama Administration, and the leftist media are voicing pure desperation.  The evidence is clear:  their policies and practices have severely harmed this nation, and it is clear that the voters know it.  What they cannot achieve through fair means, they will attempt to attain through threats, slander and voter fraud. We must  be dedicated to getting the Conservative message to the voters, and be vigilant against the intimidation tactics that have already begun.

The Failed Deficit Reduction Attempt

  Obama and his Democrat allies in Congress have spent an unprecedented amount of the taxpayer's dollars and the nation has  absolutely nothing to show for it--except the enrichment of the White House's allies in unions, and other pressure groups. It has been nothing less than a redistribution of the wealth, not to the poor, but to the politically connected.

    The result of this disgraceful misuse of the public treasury is the bankrupting of the nation.  Now the President is continuing his call to raise taxes.  To do so would be the equivalent of giving the rent money to an alcoholic for another trip to the bar.  Keynesian economics and the leftist refusal to acknowledge the basic laws of economics have trampled the greatest economy in history into the dust.

    In addition to a political philosophy that has ravaged countries around the world, there's a lot of self-serving going on.  Our current crop of politicians consider their own re-election more important than the national interest.

    It's time to end this disgrace.

Remembering Heroes

We extend our sympathy to the families of the servicemen who lost their life in the recent helicopter downing in Afghanistan.  It is yet another reminder that "freedom is not free."  Each day, every American should recall that our liberty and our safety depends on the courage, skill and sacrifice of our men and women at arms.  We can never truly repay our debt to them.  We can, however, do all that we can to insure that they have the best equipment in full supply, that they and their families are provided with appropriate compensation and benefits, and are provided with appropriate opportunities and respect upon their return to civilian life.

Albany Robs Infrastructure Funds

      New Yorker's special taxes and fees over the next five years will raise approximately $10 billion dollars for the so-called "Dedicated Highway & Bridge Trust Fund."  Only an estimated $3.4 billion will actually be used to preserve our roads and bridges.  The rest will go to pay debts that, in many cases, have little or nothing to do with these vital but deteriorating assets.

     The issue is reminiscent of monies from the State Lottery that were supposed to go to education.  The fact is, until our state elected officials deal honestly with New Yorkers, no amount of taxes or fees will ever be enough.  It's like running water through a sieve, or giving liquor to an alcoholic.  Only honesty, financial discipline, and a government that understands that it is established to provide core services, not run every facet of our lives, will this state, and, in fact, this country, ever return to solvency.

Stop Those Who Are Destroying Our Economy

Noted commentator Charles Krauthammerhas stated that the US economy has grown so bad that middle-aged or older unemployeds may never find work again. When will Americans rise up against the cap and trade, high tax, union-owned leftists who are destroying our nation?

The Fight For Freedom Continues!

"That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..." This phrase from our Declaration of Independence captures the essence of America. This July 4, as Big Government continues to ignore our Declaration and our Constitution, let's pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to the cause of freedom.

Another Bronx Hack Politician

 Assemblyman Eric Stevenson failed to raise any protest when Governor Cuomo pulled a program from his Bronx district that resulted in a loss of about 100 jobs.  According to published reports, a small job training program  that will provide a mere handful of positions will be provided as a sort of booby prize.  Many politicians have so-called "job training" programs that they personally profit from, so they don't mind allowing their constituents to lose real jobs in return for generally valueless "training" programs.

Obama Tears America Apart

Obama and his supporters in Congress appear intent on tearing the nation apart, group against group.  His Health Care legislation takes benefits from older Americans and redistributes them to those more likely to be Democrat voters. In return for vast amounts of campaign contributions from militant unions, he adopts policies that make Union leadership look successful, but that will eventually destroy jobs and create unemployment. His Attorney General refuses to prosecute acts of voter intimidation against voters not likely to be Obama supporters. His Homeland Security Secretary calls our own returning veterans a threat to national security.  He takes his ideological cues from 60's era radicals who performed acts of violence against US institutions.  Never has an election been more vital to America's survival than that which is rapidly coming upon us.  We urge all Americans who care for their nation to rise up, get active, and vote out this despicable administration.

No More Sellouts!

      If anyone ever doubted the  need for our Conservative Party, two recent events should prove extremely convincing.  First, 1/8 of all Republican senators voted for the gay marriage bill--apparently without any recriminations from leadership.  Second, Republican power broker Senator Tom Libous continues his alliance with Democrat Senator Klein, a hack  who represents everything wrong with politics.  For Klein, no principle is too sacred to sell if it is to his benefit.  Unfortunately, there are far too many Libous clones in the Republican Party who are more than willing to cut deals with anyone on anything if it aids their ambitions.  It's time to take a broom to incumbents who represent only their own interests and replace them with  people who actually stand for something.

Obama's Release of Oil From Strategic Reserve

Americans face a long-term energy crisis, largely of our own making.  Under the Democrats, we have been forbidden from exploiting our own resources, rendering us dependent on foreign sources.  We have been forbidden from drilling in ANWR, and off our own coasts (allowing, by the way, foreign nations to take oil from the Caribbean;)  nuclear power is off-limits; in places like New York, accessing vast deposits of shale oil is blocked.  Even the use of "alternative energy" such as wind power and solar are now hindered by questionable environmental policies.  Adding insult to injury, even existing oil fields in Texas are now under attack by leftists who allege that they may disturb a local lizard.  President Obama's response?  He has released some oil from the Strategic Reserve, which will have only an extremely minor and very temporary effect on the problem.  It will also endanger our nation's security in the event of a national emergency, such as a major  disaster or a military crisis.  It will, however, give the illusion that the White House is concerned with the plight of Americans. Candidate Obama once said that under his energy plan, prices would "necessarily skyrocket."  For once, he was right.

Tax Hikes Will Increase, Not Decrease, The Federal Budget

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner has called for tax increases to stop the deficit. This is precisely the thinking that is driving the US towards a depression.  The Obama Administration refuses to acknowledge that its policies have prevented job growth.  What Geithner and his fellow travelers refuse to acknowledge is that the deficit can only be ended by growing the economy, thereby creating new sources of revenue.  Tax increases will only discourage growth.

NO TO HUNTSMAN!

Obama's ambassador to China, John Huntsman, a hero to the cap & trade crowd, wants the Republican nod for president.  He's in the wrong party. There's already too many Bejing-loving liberals in Washington.

NY State Senate: Legislative Priorities

Conservative Party of New York State
Letter to NYS Senators - June 21, 2011
~~~~~~~~~~
June 21, 2011
Dear Senator:
In 1776, Thomas Paine wrote, "These are the times that try men's souls" and certainly, the issues that need to be resolved before session ends hold the same weight that Thomas Paine's words expressed at the birth of America.
Unfair taxation caused a revolution that changed the world and burdensome taxation in New York State is currently causing the demise of our state.   The census numbers show the steady decline in population as people flee to states with less taxation, mandates and nanny state government.  We have lost 18 Congressional Seats over the past 50 years and when the lines are redrawn, we will be at the lowest number since 1823.
New Yorker's priorities are tax relief, mandate relief and jobs.  They are not focused on changing the definition of marriage.  Changing the definition of marriage will not change the economic climate in New York State, yet if the Wicks Law is eliminated and the Triborough Amendment tossed, the economy could grow.  If medical malpractice changes are addressed, the cost of practicing medicine would decline.  If waste and fraud in Medicaid are addressed, as well as, bringing Medicaid benefits in line with private health insurance benefits, the spiraling health care cost could be contained.  The burdensome regulations that strangulate the creation of business are the pressing issues that must be addressed;  not changing the definition of marriage that will only enhance the business of trial lawyers.
Carving out exceptions in a proposed law to change the definition of marriage will do nothing to protect the small businesses that will be affected by yet another mandate and could force more businesses to leave the state.
In these trying times, I urge you to focus on making the changes that will benefit all New Yorkers by creating a business climate that encourages job growth, not one that encourages trial lawyers.   Don't fall prey to the unintended consequences that will result if the definition of marriage is changed.
These are trying times and it is in your hands to do what is right for all of society.
Sincerely,
Michael R. Long
State Chairman
Barney Frank Must Go
The financial meltdown was largely a result of misdeeds in the housing market, and the Fannie Mae organization had a mammoth  role in that scandal.  Democrat liberals had a huge role in creating the mortgage disaster, largely as a result of devastatingly bad legislation, bad policy, and politically-motivated decision making at the Fannie Mae bureaucracy.    A glimpse of how staffing for policy-making positions was done is provided by Rep. Barney Frank, the left wing Democrat from Massachusetts, who has admitted getting his lover, Herb Moses, appointed to a key position at Fannie Mae.  Despite Rep. Barney Frank's key role in the scandal that nearly destroyed the American economy, he remains in office and largely untouched by the mega-disaster.  Those responsible for the greatest assault on the American economy in history must be made to answer for their actions.
Conservative Party Seeks To Suspend Local Gas Sales Tax
The NY State Conservative Party is mounting a petition drive to suspend the local sales tax on gasoline.  This would provide at least some relief to motorist suffering through skyrocketing gas prices in the midst of a devastating near-depression.  We urge all voters to support the Conservative Party in this vital effort.
Weiner's Resignation
     Few tears are being shed over Rep. Weiner's resignation.  In addition to his  personal foibles, his arrogance, so typical of the hard left (particularly in New York) debased the national debate on key issues.  During his many media appearances, he resorted to talking louder than his fellow commentators, used name calling, and ignored facts. Good riddance.
Flag Day
     From the time it was first carried in the American Revolution, through the raising on Iwo Jima and up until today, "Old Glory" has inspired and encouraged the cause of freedom.  We encourage all who believe in the principles our nation was founded upon to display it with honor today.
Whose Side Is Obama On?
     President Obama has sided with Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and other anti-American interests in South America on the issue of ownership of the Falkland Islands, which Argentina, without any merit, claims sovereignty over.
     Once again, as occurs with alarming frequency, Obama has opposed the clear interests of America and America's allies.  Up until know, the conversation has been relatively low key, with Democrats suggesting the White House was taking a different approach to diplomacy, and Republicans, as usual, simply remaining relatively quiet.
     But the time has come to ask a truly uncomfortable and disquieting question.  Whose side is Barack Hussein Obama on?
The Great Media Double Standard
        There is little doubt that the media has a double standard.  Certainly, the coverage of Weiner would have been less humorous and far more furious had he been a Republican.
       A similar issue concerns President Obama's war in Libya.  Begun for the vaguest of reasons, the time limit for compliance with the War Powers Act has expired, and the White House is in clear violation.  Yet there is little reaction from the mainstream media.  One could only imagine the 24 hour, nonstop coverage this same action would have received had a Republican president taken the same steps.  Leftists agitators would have instigated mass protests on college campuses, huge marches on Washington, and much more.
       Leftist antisemitism is another issue the press chooses to ignore.  From anti-Israeli policies in the White House to bigoted attempts to outlaw Jewish rituals such as circumcision (the goal of a proposed law in California) the rise in this ancient prejudice within the leftist community has been intentionally overlooked.
       Perhaps the most significant story of the year concerns the ongoing descent of the American economy.  Indicators such as long-term unemployment, and the fall of housing prices, are actually WORSE than those in the Great depression of the 1930's.  Yet again, the press, so deeply biased in favor of Obama, continues to downplay this crisis.
      As Conservatives, we must do all that we can to get this message out to our fellow Americans:  Don't believe the liberal propaganda machine!
Join the New American Revolution
       Our nation is in crisis.  The White House has adopted radical, left-wing economic policies at home, and ruined the once vibrant American economy.  It has appeased our enemies abroad, and alienated our true allies.  It has advocated dangerous changes in our military strength. It has failed to secure our borders.
       Throughout the United States, in the media and in educational institutions, those who attempt to engage in candid discussions about the failure of leftist policies are discriminated against and harassed.  The great history of our nation is barely taught to our young. Traditional freedoms are infringed upon.
      In New York, despite taxes and policies that have chased many of our most productive enterprises and citizens out, the same party, and the same liberal ideology, continue to wreck havoc on what was once “The Empire State.”  Politicians enrich themselves at the expense of the citizenry.
       In The Bronx, the current structure of the Bronx Conservative Party has not risen to the challenge.  It has neglected it’s only worthwhile task—protecting our nation and its constitution by electing true conservatives.  The New American Revolution Conservative Club is not interested in personality clashes or making deals with the Democrats.  It’s only focus is to defeat leftists such as the nightmare Obama Administration, and those elected officials in New York who share his radical agenda.
     The New American Revolution Bronx Conservative Club is dedicated to working with the New York State Conservative Party and with patriots throughout New York to restore America and our state to the principles of our founding fathers and to the rule of law as espoused in the United States Constitution.
                Join us—and help restore America and New York to greatness!
